With “Full-Throated high notes that rang in the ears” Countertenor Bruno Rivera became the “Discovery of the Year” in 2018. Rivera most recently surprised audiences in Trial by Jury where he played the role of the plaintiff in all leather S&M gear with Transgressive Theatre-Opera.
Other recent commitments include: a brains eating zombie for New Moon Opera Night of Terror scenes concert to the tune of Lakme’s “Flower” duet and Miles in Turn of the Screw. He also played the conniving Mary Sunshine in the musical Chicago with Big Noise Theater.
In 2005, Rivera started his undergraduate studies in vocal performance at the Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico before transferring in August 2008 to the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University where he studied under Mark Crayton. He now studies with countertenor Thomas Alaán.
